Operation Silver Shovel Request Form
In response to Winter Storm Fern, County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy has initiated "Operation Silver Shovel", which is a rapid response emergency service provided by the Office of the County Executive. The mission is to ensure that our most vulnerable residents with limited mobility are not trapped in their homes following a snow emergency, ensuring access for emergency medical services (EMS) and personal safety by offering snow removal services for senior residents.
Members of our senior community that are eligible for snow removal services are:
Prince George’s County residents
70 years or older
Seniors with a disability
Residing in single family and/or townhome (Condominiums and apartments are NOT applicable)
Residents are required to provide a valid ID and/or disability card.
Snow removal services will begin Tuesday, January 27, 2026, and end Friday, January 30, 2026.
NOTE: ALL applicants are required to submit supporting documentation. Each request MUST be validated and approved before service. Upon approval, snow removal services will be LIMITED and on a First come, First serve basis. Weather conditions are subject to change and may impact service requests
